About the challenge

SMIT Club is a student-run club that gives Edmonton post-secondary students hands-on experience through community-built events, bringing together software, IT, business, design, and creative students to learn from each other.

This hackathon is designed for first-timers. Whether you're into software development, game design, animation, cinema, digital or web design, business analysis, or IT systems administration, this is a place to showcase your skills, no experience required. First-year and first-time participants are especially welcome.

What you'll walk away with:

• A real project for your portfolio or resume
• New connections across disciplines you might not normally work with
• Practical experience building something real, under a tight deadline
•  A first hackathon under your belt, so the next one feels a lot less intimidating
  
  

How To Enter

• RSVP through our free ($0) Eventbrite ticket
• Join above and complete our registration form.
• Spots are limited so register early, especially if you're coming from outside NAIT.
• You must check in and attend the kickoff in person. Remote work is only allowed after you have completed the initial check in; this is not a fully remote event.

  A community vote is also included; teams cannot vote for themselves. If there are 7 or more teams, a pre-judging round is added ahead of the final round.
